Mike Gravel

Maurice Robert "Mike" Gravel (born May 13, 1930), is a former Democratic United States Senator from Alaska for two terms, from 1969 to 1981. He is primarily known for his efforts in ending the draft following the Vietnam War and for having put into the public record the Pentagon Papers in 1971. He is currently a candidate for the 2008 Democratic nomination for President of the United States. (More at Wikipedia)
